LED lighting cuts bills for garden office owners
» 22nd February 2011 «
Garden office owners have been advised to invest in LED lighting and benefit from reduced electricity bills.
According to Victoria Lee, lighting designer at lighting consultancy Light IQ, LED lights are initially more expensive than regular lighting, such as halogen and incandescent bulbs, but stressed that homeowners can "reap the rewards" on their bills.
"It will give you some saving as well because of the fact that you're not going to be changing your light bulbs all the time," she added.
Soon, homeowners across Europe will be forced to buy more energy efficient lighting as inefficient bulbs are being phased out.
The European Commission ruled back in 2009 that the market for inefficient bulbs would be ended by 2012.
And according to the Energy Saving Trust, energy saving light bulbs use 80 per cent less electricity than a standard bulb.
Making savings in areas such as energy efficiency, households can splash out on other areas such as interior trends for their garden office or log cabin or on garden features like new plant bulbs.
