New place for gardening tips
» 22nd February 2010 «
Garden owners will soon be able to find more expert tips on how to create their ideal green space using their iPod, laptop or other digital device.
The UK's Tatton Park Gardens has teamed up with The Garden Channel to create a regular podcast after the first instalment attracted more than 1,100 hits in the first 72 hours.
Presented by the attraction's manager Sam Youd and garden team leader Simon Tetlow, the initial podcast covered pruning of acers and important winter garden tasks, the Knutsford Guardian revealed.
The next one will look at how to trim wisterias, force rhubarb and take hardwood cuttings and Mr Youd explained that, after some confusion over what a podcast actually is, he is enjoying the experience.
"One real advantage for people tuning in is the immediacy of the footage - it's been great to be able to film one day and see the footage the next and Simon and I are really enjoying working with The Garden Channel," he told the newspaper.
Each year, more than 750,000 visitors pass through the gates of Tatton Park's historic estate, which features a 1,000-acre deer park, farm and mansion, as well as its famous gardens.
