Charity gives teenager a stay in Lapland log cabin
» 18th December 2009 «
A charity has made a young girl's Christmas wish come true by paying for her and her family to be whisked off for a stay in a log cabin in Lapland.
Tiverton resident Poppy McColl-Snowdon was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was aged just eight months old and has lived with the condition for 14 years, thisisthewestcountry.co.uk reported.
However, after spending last Christmas in hospital with hydrocephalus, the youngster was given a festive treat to remember after being gifted a four-night stay in a log cabin with her parents, two brothers and one sister.
The log cabin came complete with its own sledges and Poppy was able to play with husky pups, before being taken on a reindeer sleigh ride.
However, the highlight of the trip, paid for by Starlight Children's Foundation, was getting to meet Santa Claus in his own back yard.
"It was so fantastic for us all to get away after last Christmas, we all needed time together out of the hospital," explained Poppy's dad Mark.
Meanwhile, a logcabindiscounter spokesperson recently suggested that owning a log cabin could add value to your property.
