Criminals steal log cabin
» 9th December 2009 «
Thieves have plundered a Hatfield Heath stable yard, dismantling and removing the owner's log cabin, it has been revealed.
According to the Herts and Essex Observer, the crime occurred at the site belonging to 52-year-old Elaine Wallace, who keeps horses belonging to herself and her daughter at the stable.
She explained to the newspaper that it must have been a well-planned and well-executed burglary for no one to have noticed.
The log cabin measured five metres by five metres and had its own electricity and water supply until the thieves struck between 19:30 on December 7th and 08:30 the following day.
While the criminals took the walls, windows and door, the base of the structure was mysteriously left behind.
Ms Wallace explained that a neighbour had notified her that the log cabin was missing before she arrived on site to confirm the theft.
Meanwhile, worldtravelguide.net has recently looked at trips to Finland, where tourists can stay in log cabins.
