Thousands of people in the US recently gained the chance to boost their knowledge of log cabins by attending an event in the state of Vermont, New England, it has been reported.
The focus was on energy efficiency at the annual Log Home Expo, with visitors learning the benefits of how small adjustments to their homes could help them to save money.
WCAX reports that some guests developed an understanding of how the changes would provide both short and long-term gains.
Homebuilder Sara Barboza told the publication: "When we were building the home we were looking at the different heat options that and that home seemed to be able to retain the heat the best.
"Even just building a timber-framed home itself is expensive. Starting right away you are spending a lot more money, but it so well insulated that you really make up the money later."
Log cabins can have numerous uses for individuals depending upon their own needs, with Logcabinsdiscounter spokesperson John Jansen recently stating they offer an additional storage option and can be used to provide suitable office space.
