Liverpool home garden makes it into prestigious Yellow Book

A garden in Belle Vale, Liverpool has made it into the Yellow Book - a prestigious guide that lists the finest gardens in the country.

Karen Lewis's garden was described as an inspirational, one-off small estate garden that boasts a diversity of plants and colour, the BBC reported.

The Yellow Book is published by the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) and lists gardens considered worthy of opening to the public, including gardens owned by the Queen.

Ms Lewis's garden will be open for public viewing on Sunday 8th August as part of the NGS Open Gardens charity scheme, with more information available on the NGS website.

Christine Ruth of the NGS told the BBC: "It really is quite something to be accepted to be in the Yellow Book."

"Karen's garden is a little paradise. It's absolutely beautiful, packed with colour and plants and imagination. She's made garden features herself which are incredibly good and tasteful and she has some spectacularly good plants in there. She really knows her stuff," she added.

Ms Lewis's garden also boasts a pond that is home to a range of wildlife including newts, frogs and toads.
