Log cabin owners take tips from English Heritage

Log cabin owners could take some valuable tips from the gardens in English Heritage's property portfolio.
Writing for the Independent, Emma Townshend claimed that the historic organisation has some of the most peaceful gardens in the UK and some examples even provide an insight into traditional gardens of the past.
Audley End, a Tudor mansion in Essex has "arguably the first herbaceous borders in English gardening" and a vegetable garden that is "run so beautifully on organic principles that it will inspire even chemical enthusiasts", she wrote.
English Heritage is noted for its regeneration projects; not least the £2.1 million garden at Kenilworth Castle, which is built in an Elizabethan style.
If green-fingered homeowners are more interested in contemporary design, Ms Townshend noted that Portland Castle in Dorset has been designed by Christopher Bradley-Hole, a "Chelsea medal-winning minimalist".
By taking a walk through lavish country estate gardens, homeowners can add some style to their own outdoor space, making a beautiful landscape for a log cabin or summer house and providing a relaxing hideaway.
