Log cabin owners urged to clean up for summer
» 23rd February 2011 «
Log cabin owners have been encouraged to clean up their garden ahead of summer when they will spend more time outside to enjoy the view.
Helen Elks-Smith, spokeswoman for the Society of Garden Designers, said that there is plenty to do to prepare for the warmer months, like sweeping up leaves and compost, washing patios and cleaning down furniture.
A stiff brush on wooden furniture can bring it back to life, she says, while washing down outdoor buildings will also make them look newer.
"Keep bird feeders full and clean, take a look at fences and see whether they will need mending or replacing, which is easier to do when there are less plants," she advised.
Ms Elks-Smith added: "Look at the lawn - too wet, too mossy, too springy, too dull?"
Such details could make a garden look more attractive when things start of blossom. However, garden owners could find that a summer house or log cabin could also add an attractive feature to a garden.
