Log cabin to house rural pre-school
» 2nd September 2010 «
Plans are being developed to build an expansive log cabin at a school in Herefordshire.
A planning application has already been made for the log cabin that would house the pre-school at Bosbury Primary School, the Ledbury Reporter said.
According to the newspaper, the proposed cabin is intended to replace the temporary building currently in use at the school.
The plans are for a large log cabin that would provide two nursery rooms, a staffroom, office, kitchen, storeroom and toilets.
In addition, the Ledbury Reporter noted that the building is to have "cedar-clad walls, timber windows and a metal-tile roof, which is intended to harmonise with the school's existing buildings and its rural setting".
The news comes after the London Evening Standard last week reported that a garden shed in the city has been turned into a rentable "one-bedroom studio flat".
According to the paper, the building at a home in Gladding Road, Manor Park - which has been put up for rent at £150 a week - measures six metres by four and has a bathroom installed.
