A park in Maryland, US, has decided to open a learning experience in a log cabin to help educate visitors about one of the area's famous residents.
The Catonsville site has built a replica of the log cabin that renowned 18th century African-American scientist Benjamin Banneker built for himself, the Associated Press revealed.
The original burned down in 1806, but the Friends of Benjamin Banneker has elected to create a replacement that will act as an "educational experience".
According to the organisation's vice-president Ray Clark, the new log cabin will help visitors understand the scientist's life more fully.
A state bond of $400,000 (£238,051) helped the group to create the building in the most historically accurate way possible, explained president Bill Lambert.
In other news, a centuries-old Pennsylvania log cabin is to be put up for auction so that it can be restored and put back into use, ABC News 27 revealed.
