Money saving tips for gardeners
» 10th June 2010 «
Gardening is a great way to save cash, keep in shape and provide healthy, organic food for your family, it has been claimed.
According to creditunionsonline.com, there is no need for gardening to be an expensive pastime if growers are savvy about how and where they spend their money.
The US website recently published a number of hints and tips on how to avoid paying through the nose for a beautiful yard.
Buying in bulk can be a useful way of saving cash, the online resource suggested.
Growers should get together with friends and family and purchase fertiliser, seeds mulch and other materials together to save paying through the nose.
Meanwhile, making your own compost is cheaper than buying bags of it from the shops. This will also help to save the environment by cutting fuel emissions and avoiding waste going to landfill.
In other news, the Royal Horticultural Society recently revealed that the government is hoping to stop peat extraction activities by paying compensation to compost manufacturers.
