Racing driver s property and log cabin goes to auc

Racing fans in the US are to be given a chance to bid on some of the property and possessions of driver Jeremy Mayfield, including a farm with log cabin.

The Nascar driver and his wife Shana have asked live auction webcast provider Proxibid to sell more than 700 lots of personal assets at auction today (November 20th).

Included in the hoard are a number of firearms, racing memorabilia, a 13,000 sq ft home and around 475 acres of real estate in total.

"This is one of the finest farms we have ever sold," explained auctioneer Will Lilly.

"This property has it all - executive homes, a log cabin, lakes, rolling pastures, an equine facility and creeks running through a large portion of the property."

He added that the property in question was located close to both Lake Norman and the Interstate 77, yet in an area that is secluded.

Mayfield was banned from Nascar earlier this year after failing a random drug test, but he has been contesting the decision.
