Somerset school to build log cabin

A Somerset school is set to get its own log cabin after being handed a grant worth thousands of pounds.
Clevedon's Mary Elton Primary School will benefit from a £4,000 cash injection through Natwest's Supergrounds scheme, which is pouring £6 million into similar projects across the country, the Somerset Guardian revealed.
Managed by Learning through Landscapes, the fund sees Natwest staff nominate schools that they are involved with for a grant.
Kay Thorne, who works at the local branch and nominated the school, said that the cash would make a big difference.
"As a parent, I know how difficult it is for the school to raise funds," she explained to the newspaper. "As a result, I'm thrilled that my employers have agreed to help us turn these projects into a reality."
As well as an outdoor environmental log cabin, the school will also create a vegetable patch for each year group.
Meanwhile, the Canadian website Fast Forward Weekly recently reviewed the type of adventure holidays one can have in the country while staying in log cabins.
