Vinegar used to spruce up weathered log cabins
» 24th February 2011 «
Gardeners can use vinegar to spruce up their weathered log cabins, one expert has advised.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Francine Raymond said that mould on outdoor furniture and paintwork can be removed with hot water and vinegar.
She urged homeowners to get outside and fling the doors open, bringing fresh air inside and spend time to clean up outside.
Now is the time to air out cushions, throws and seating or even recover them with this year's interior design trends, while a visit to a car-boot sale could lead to some garden furniture additions for a log cabin or summer house.
"Spring is also the time to re-pot your plants (one size up), refresh their compost and give them a tonic," she wrote.
According to Hannah Barnes from Hannah Barnes Designs, rich colour palettes like "deep aubergines, luxurious midnight blues and crisp shades of teal" are top interior design trends this season.
