Xscape hosts National Elf Service log cabin

» 15th December 2009 «

Around this time of year, some lucky people may be looking forward to spending a white Christmas in a log cabin.

However, most will have to make do with trips to festive events such as Xscape Braehead's hosting of the National Elf Service log cabin.

The entertainment complex, which features Sno!zone indoors ski and snowboard slope, is giving visitors to the log cabin the chance to make Christmas cards, decorate baubles and take part in the Great Christmas Pudding Hunt.

It comes after Xscape teamed up with Real Radio to give one Lanarkshire woman an early Christmas to remember.

While Coatbridge resident Sharon Longyear may not live in a log cabin, staff from the Renfrewshire attraction helped create an early festive atmosphere at her home by dumping ten tonnes of real snow in her garden on Friday (December 11th).

Santa also showed up at the competition winner's door to deliver a sack full of early presents, including a Nintendo Wii.

Meanwhile, the Nottingham Evening Post recently revealed that a local resident keeps seven pinball machines in his garden log cabin, allowing him to practice for the league he plays in.
