Darts player: Don t call my log cabin a shed
» 22nd December 2009 «
Darts player Peter Manley has revealed that he uses his log cabin as his practice arena.
The world championship hopeful is writing a regular blog for the News and Star and is currently preparing for his second round match against Mark Webber, whom he described as "a nice lad".
Manley explained that the competition is important as it has a large bearing on players' rankings and could decide how their entire year will go.
"I am a bit like Santa Claus at this time of year in that I spend a lot of time beavering away in a log cabin in anticipation of Christmas," he wrote.
The darts expert explained he uses the log cabin to get some time away and focus on his game, while his wife ensures he is "well looked after".
He added that he once had to correct Soccer AM host Helen Chamberlain after she referred to the log cabin as a "shed".
Manley stated that his was "a lot more upmarket than that", noting that other players have sheds, but his is different.
The star is in the second round of the championship courtesy of a narrow 3-2 win over Andy Jenkins.
