Log cabin buyers should get construction help
» 12th August 2010 «
Property owners have been advised to do their research and seek professional help when attempting challenging home improvement jobs.
Michael Holmes, spokesperson for the National Home Improvement Show, suggested that the number of injuries sustained from poor renovations is set to increase as people attempt to save money during the difficult economic climate.
He argued that many accidents are caused by the misuse of power tools and added that some homeowners who attempt DIY are "often over ambitious and overestimate their level of skill".
"However, poorly executed DIY can have more than an affect on a homeowners health - it can reduce the value of a property by as much as five per cent," commented the specialist.
The news may encourage prospective log cabin or summer house buyers to enlist the help of professional companies like Garden Adventure when erecting their garden buildings. Mr Holmes advised people to get their "DIY legs" by attempting smaller jobs first.
