London gardeners to access food growing tips online

» 8th March 2010 «

Londoners who plan to invest time and money into their garden this year may be interested to hear of a new service offering tips on how to grow healthy fruit and vegetables.

The capital-based Healthy London Living website is intended to offer residents in the UK's largest city advice on where to go for health-related courses, events, recipes and other information.

It has teamed up with online produce retailer Grown For You, which is set to provide a regular feed of gardening hints and tips with a particular emphasis on growing healthy food.

"We're delighted to be able to team up with this new website and show just how easy it is to plant and tend your very own fruit and veg," explained Grown For You manager Nick Coumbe.

He added that those who grow their own fruit and vegetables will be granting themselves access to the freshest food available.

In other news, the Royal Horticultural Society recently reported that scientists are developing a strain of blackcurrants that do not require a prolonged winter cold spell to flourish during the growing season.ADNFCR-2848-ID-19656230-ADNFCR
