RHS garden upgrades facilities

The Royal Horticultural Society's (RHS) Garden Harlow Carr has almost completed work on its new green learning centre.

Billed as one of the most eco-friendly buildings in the country, the facility will allow interested parties to expand their knowledge.

The Yorkshire Post revealed that the centre will benefit from wool insulation to trap heat, as well as automatic lights and windows to save energy and regulate temperatures.

Additionally, learners will benefit from large windows which will grant them vistas of the garden attraction.

The £3 million investment took place after the education department felt it had outgrown its previous classrooms.

"We have wanted a brand new centre for a long time, but it's hard to believe that we are so close to actually moving in," RHS education officer Debbie Hanslip told the newspaper.

Meanwhile, Horticulture Week recently published a QVC study which showed that homebuyers would expect to pay at least £5,000 less for a property with a messy garden.ADNFCR-2848-ID-19702661-ADNFCR
