Award-winning garden to be recreated
» 1st July 2010 «
A garden which won a prestigious honour earlier this year will be recreated in a Worcestershire town, it has been confirmed.
Matthew Jackman, a landscape designer from Chipping Norton, won a silver medal at the Royal Horticultural Society Spring Show for his Quaker Meeting Place Garden.
The design made such an impact that he has now been commissioned by the Malvern Quakers to allow it to bloom at the town's youth centre, the Cotswold Journal reports.
Mr Jackman, who works for Topiarus Horticulture on Worcester Road Industrial Estate, expressed his delight at having the opportunity to revisit the award-winning project.
"It's always slightly soul-destroying that something you have put so much time and effort into gets torn down," he told the news provider.
"But we're so fortunate in this situation that the Malvern Quakers were so keen to have it re-built."
Last week, the Evening Standard revealed details of a £5 million 'Perpetual Garden' project which will form the centrepiece of the Olympic park when the Games arrive in London in 2012.
