Homeowners want more eco-friendly options
» 13th August 2010 «
Consumers are actively looking for ways to make their properties more environmentally-friendly, an industry specialist has claimed.
Alison Coleman, marketing manager at Magnet, noted that a huge range of homeowner purchases are now reflecting people's desire to be greener.
Indeed, the growing urge to implement sustainable, eco-friendly home improvements has been seen in the rising popularity of summer houses and other garden buildings.
Meanwhile, referring to a new range of ECO worktops, Ms Coleman observed that they "are partly made from recycled consumer waste such as mirror, porcelain sinks, baths and tiles, and from industrial waste such as ash from power plants and stone scrap from quarries and workshops".
The comments come after Simon Errill, managing director at Stonehouse Tiles, observed that more and more people are attempting to create rustic, comforting spaces at their properties.
He suggested that homeowners are increasingly seeking to adopt nature-inspired looks inside rooms and buildings.
