New iPhone help for UK gardeners

» 6th April 2010 «

UK garden enthusiasts now have a new source of information after the Royal Horticultural Society released an iPhone application.

A new free application for the iPhone, iPad and iPad Touch is available for gardening fans across the UK.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) programme contains advice designed to help growers choose which fruit and vegetables to cultivate.

Users can input how much time, space and experience they have and will be presented with a choice of plants based on their unique entry.

RHS garden experts have individually written advice for each fruit and vegetable contained in the application, including what should be grown at specific times of the year, as well as common problems with specific varieties.

Future updates will provide growers with a calendar to track the progress of their plants, as well as a real-time weather warning and reminder system.

Furthermore, there will be links to the RHS online shop, where gardeners can purchase seeds, plants and other products.

The organisation is set for a busy summer, with the Chelsea Flower Show sure to be one of the highlights.ADNFCR-2848-ID-19705769-ADNFCR
