Take a garden stroll this spring
» 16th February 2010 «
Brits planning to invest in their garden over the course of 2010 could benefit from a visit to one of the UK's many landscaped attractions.
According to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), spring is an ideal time to venture into one of its gardens.
A stroll through such a site could help inspire homeowners and give them ideas to take back to their own green space.
The RHS is granting members access to its Blenheim Palace site in Oxfordshire during the month of February and is encouraging Brits to pay the famous grounds a visit.
As well as having one of the country's most beautiful waterfalls in the Grand Cascade, the gardens also contain water terraces based on Bernini's renowned River Gods Fountain.
Winston Churchill may have held the site in high esteem, with the former prime minister choosing the Temple of Diana as the spot where he got engaged to his wife in 1908.
Meanwhile, the RHS is offering a range of activities to keep children busy this half-term, including a talk from the RSPB at Garden Harlow Carr.
