Use allotment for extra garden space

Brits who would like to have their garden looking beautiful, but would still like to grow their own food may find a solution in a London newspaper.

The Islington Tribune suggested that an allotment can answer any space questions and allow garden lovers to grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs.

According to the newspaper, one way to obtain this extra land in the competitive south-east metropolis is to commandeer a patch of disused land.

It said that there are numerous empty building plots and green spaces dotted around the capital which could do with a little TLC.

Another option would be to volunteer at a community garden, granting access to a steady stream of food.

However, perhaps the most simple solution would be to obtain the permission of your neighbour to grow food in their garden in exchange for a portion of the harvest.

Meanwhile, the Guardian recently published tips on how to avoid blight affecting your potatoes.ADNFCR-2848-ID-19613470-ADNFCR
