More Log Cabins Articles Homeowners encouraged by advances in underfloor heating technology may also be tempted to set up a garden log cabin or summer house.
A spokesman for QEP Vitrex, a supplier of tiling and flooring installation tools, has argued that the added value that underfloor heating can bring to a property is one of its major benefits.
"The fact that you have got underfloor heating is something that people look for," said the spokesman.
He added that it is a "very fast growing sector" of the home improvement market because it offers the "real comfort factor" of having warm feet at home.
The comments come after Helen Elks-Smith, a spokeswoman for the Society of Garden Designers, recently suggested that homeowners are increasingly seeking to get more from their gardens throughout the year.
Setting out her predictions for gardening trends in summer 2011, she noted that people's plans could be affected by Britain's notoriously fluctuating weather and that they may want to make additions to their gardens as a result.
