More Log Cabins Articles Lovers of the great outdoors are being invited to name their favourite log cabin in the whole of the United States.
While many homeowners may be tempted to vote for the log cabins in their own back yards, travellers are being encouraged to name their number one cabin located in the numerous National Parks dotted around the country.
The National Parks Traveller has posed the question as part of its latest 'Reader Participation' initiative, with the site itself offering up a number of suggestions.
For instance, it names the Roosevelt Fireplace Cottages in the Olympic National Park, as well as the Roughrider Cabins in Yellowstone, as being among the best in the country, with both sets of log cabins allowing for an authentic pioneering experience in the midst of some of the finest scenery in the States.
This latest survey comes on the back of news that the first ever log cabin built near the city of Chicago is to be protected as an historical landmark.
The cabin was built by Joseph Naper in 1831, with the pioneer widely recognised as the founder of Naperville.
