More Summer Houses Articles An artist has created an innovative summer house by combining a rural setting with modern, metallic materials, it has been reported.
According to the Lincolnshire Echo, the summer house in the grounds of Alford Manor House is really a "contemporary sculptural garden feature" called Twist.
The structure, which was designed by artist Susan Bradley, has been inspired by the corn dollies that feature among the manor's rural artefacts and appears as a stainless steel and braided wire summer house which visitors can walk in, the newspaper said.
News of the summer house came as it was reported that offenders supervised by Lincolnshire Probation Trust have been helping to clear the walled garden at the manor house in preparation for the Twist exhibition.
This has involved digging over a site for a vegetable garden, clearing rubble and landscaping the area.
"We are extremely pleased with the continued support and help of Community Payback, both from the individuals placed with us and the teams we regularly have on site," said house manager at Alford Manor Sara Blair-Manning.
